Strolling Richmond’s wide array of local boutiques is a great way to while away some time while visiting the River City, but it can be kind of a drag when many start closing up shop around 5 or 6. Well, your respite from limited hours returns this Thursday when Carytown First takes place. Most of the shops along the Carytown “mile of style” will keep their doors open until 8 p.m., and many also host special sales for shoppers. It’s an ideal time to explore this gorgeous part of our fair city.
Head to town early in the evening and plan to spend some time strolling. Stop in Le Visage makeup boutique for a free mini-makeover from a professional makeup artist, or swing by Eurotrash to browse styles straight from overseas while snacking on hors d’oeuvres and sipping some bubbly. Keep your eye out for other fun stuff all along the street.
If all that shopping leaves you ready for a bite (or at least a libation), make sure to stop in one of the many restaurants along Cary Street. Mention Carytown First at continental bistro Bonvenu, and you’ll get 10 percent off your meal. For something lighter, check out our favorite wine bar, Secco, for fantastic cheese plates and a wide selection of wines by the glass.
