If you think vegetarian food means bland peas and carrots, head to the Vegetarian Festival on June 18 from 12 to 6 p.m., where a host of local restaurants will prove you wrong.
More than 20 local restaurants and food companies will be at the Azalea Gardens in Bryan Park in Richmond’s North Side, along with live music throughout the day. There’ll be African, Italian, Thai, Indian, American, Ethiopian, and other varieties of cuisine made sans meat to sample.
Admission is free, but attendees are asked to bring a can of vegetables to donate to LAMB’s Basket food pantry, or to bring a donation for festival charity Operation Catnip, a nonprofit that helps feral cats.
Plan to stop by for the afternoon, relax and taste some meat-free goodies.
