Restaurant Week & Watermelon

What’s that you say? Regular restaurant week and Sampling Shockoe aren’t enough for you? You want more discounts from Richmond’s best restaurant? Well, you’re in luck! The Carytown Restaurant Committee is hosting the neighborhood’s own restaurant week, “Taste of Carytown,” August 1-6. The event is being hosted to raise funds for the Richmond Public Schools Education Foundation and includes discounted meals at a range of eating establishments.

Higher end dining spots will offer special menus for $25 per person, but more affordable eating spots will also be offering special menus with portions going to the foundation. The committee decided to mix up their structure so more restaurants can participate, and so diners can eat, save money and donate no matter their budget. Pretty nifty!

Like Carytown on Facebook to keep up with the area restaurants and their special menus as they are released. The dining deals all lead up to the famous 28th Annual Carytown Watermelon Festival on August 7 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Cary Street will be shut down and packed with all sorts of vendors for one of the state’s largest one-day festivals. There are fair food vendors, bands, crafts, and of course, plenty of sweet, icy cold watermelon. Plan your weekend in Richmond now!
