Can’t make it to New Orleans, Rio or Germany for some crazy pre-Lent celebrating? Come to Richmond instead! Our own Capital Ale House’s downtown location is hosting Karneval celebrations to give you a taste of international fun (and, of course, some delicious beer!).
The fun starts Saturday (2/26) at 9 p.m., when a celebration of Latin Carnival features a performance by Latin band Bio Ritmo, beads, dancing and Latin food specials. Tickets cost $10.
It continues Friday, March 4 at 7 p.m., for Fasching (German Carnival), with entertainment from polka band The Continentals, German beer and food specials, singing and toasting all night. Tickets cost $5.
Saturday, March 5, at 9 p.m., Capital Ale heads to the Big Easy with Nathan Williams and the Zydeco Cha Chas, Creole food specials, beads, and dancing. Tickets cost $15 in advance and $20 the day of the show.
You can also celebrate on Fat Tuesday (March 8) when N’awlins-based Abita is featured during Steal the Glass Night (starting at 4 p.m., buy the featured beer and take the glass home!). Plus, free live entertainment will be provided by Groove Motive from 8 p.m. to midnight, and there’ll be Cajun food specials all night.
