One of Virginia’s smallest farm wineries, Woodland Vineyard, is located south of Richmond, making it a lovely spot for day-tripping from our centrally located bed and breakfast. Next Sunday (3/20) between noon and 5 p.m. is a great time to visit, because the owners are hosting a Spring Celebration.
$5 per person or $8 per family gets you a sneak peek at the 2010 vintage before it hits the bottles. You’ll get to taste directly from the barrels and stainless steel tanks, and there’ll also be regular wines for sampling, light hors d’oeuvres and wine for purchase by the glass or bottle.
If you feel like heading out, picnics are welcome. We’d be happy to suggest some spots for grabbing some cheeses, meats or other snacks to tote with you.
