A Summer Feast, Tobacco Co.-Style

The Tobacco Company, located in Richmond’s Shockoe Slip, may be one of the city’s old stalwart restaurants, but new sous chef Justin Von Moll is out to prove that the cuisine is still fresh and innovative at the summer feast taking place there on Sunday, 8/28.

Von Moll will be serving up a full menu influenced by his childhood in Charleston, S.C. Get ready for southern with a chef-inspired twist. In fact, there’ll be a full southern spread with traditional favorites like candied bacon; ho’cakes; collard greens braised with ham hock, malt vinegar and hot sauce; as well as fresh twists on favorites like a spinach salad topped with strawberry and cucumber salsa and sugar cane-basil vinaigrette; Cheerwine-braised pork belly; and Coca Cola-BBQ glazed meatloaf with bacon and blue cheese. Of course there’ll be desserts, too—save room for chocolate-bacon-pecan pie with sweet bourbon whiskey foam. Go here to see the full menu.

Tickets cost $50 per person and include food, soft drinks, tax and tip. A cash bar featuring the restaurant’s summer cocktails will also be available. Tickets must be purchased in advance. Get yours here.
